Hotels With Cruise Shuttles For Every Major Port in America

In the following sections, we’ll delve deeper into the world of cruise bars, exploring their various facilities, entertainment options, popular destinations, and tips for maximizing your enjoyment. A cruise vacation is an opportunity to indulge in relaxation, adventure, and entertainment while sailing the open waters. One of the key attractions on a cruise ship is the cruise bar, where passengers can unwind and enjoy their favorite beverages amidst stunning ocean views. A cruise bar is not just a place to grab a drink, but also a vibrant hub of socializing and entertainment. Combine the "Fun Ship" vibe and a plethora of places to imbibe with all-you-can-drink packages, and you've got the makings of a good time.

Can I bring my own drinks to the bar?

The variety of options ensures that there is always something to suit everyone’s interests and preferences. So, whether you’re looking to dance to live music, test your knowledge in trivia, or simply enjoy the company of friends over drinks, cruise bars offer an entertaining and enjoyable experience for all passengers. Besides the drinks, cruise bars also offer a range of amenities and services to enhance the overall experience. Many bars provide complimentary snacks and appetizers to complement the drinks. Some bars even have partnerships with renowned mixologists or brand collaborations, offering exclusive drinks or limited-edition cocktails.

Carnival's sports bars are the perfect places to get up-to-the-minute sports scores and watch live games over a drink or two. On most ships, the space falls under the moniker of SkyBox Sports Bar; those locations also offer video game play. On a couple of the line's older ships, the venue offers no video games and simply goes by the name of "Sports Bar."

On Norwegian Cruise Line's Breakaway and Breakaway-Plus Class ships, check out this Havana-themed venue with indoor and outdoor seating and live Latin-Cuban music. Watch the sun go down from the alfresco promenade while sipping unusual mojitos such as Spicy Passion, Pineapple Coconut and Raspberry Guava. If you can't decide, go with a flight combining sweet and savory selections. If all else fails, try the Cucumber Sunrise, an Alchemy Bar staple. For a fun shopping mall experience with a quintessential Miami vibe, head to Bayside Marketplace.

As ships tighten up their smoking policies, it's getting harder to find bars onboard where you can smoke. On some ships, the lines will set aside a bar, usually with an outdoor space, for cruisers to light up; you'll find the European lines are laxer with their smoking rules than the U.S. ones. Some ships have designated cigar bars where smoking is allowed. Certain lines still allow smoking in casinos, but many have banned it there, including Seabourn, Crystal, Celebrity, Oceania and Windstar.

There's a smoked porter, farmhouse ale and hoppy IPA, among other selections. Sip, the Champagne bar on Virgin Voyages' ships, is one of the most popular bars on board. Because you have to pass through it to reach the theater, you can't miss it. One of the best cocktails to try at either location is the Icy Pop — a fruity, refreshing ice pop served in a large glass of Champagne. Carnival, for instance, allows you to bring one of your two allowed wine bottles with you to restaurants, the main dining room or to a bar. Most other lines specify that your personal bottles may be brought to the dining rooms but don’t mention bars.

Our ships feature up to 22 bars and lounges, each with its own unique vibe. Wherever you’ve chosen to cruise to — Mexico, the Caribbean, Bahamas or Hawaii — one of the cruise activities you’re sure to enjoy the most is the onboard bars. There’s a bar for everyone on our cruises, no matter what type of drink you like.

The pub grub menu features fish 'n' chips and bangers and mash (sausages and mashed potatoes). You might not expect one of the coolest bar choices at sea to be on a small ship, but that's the case on French line Ponant's Explorer Class 184-passenger Le Laperouse and its four sister ships. The multisensory lounge is below the water line and has two huge, whale-eye-shaped portals for watching the sea. The dark space makes you feel like you are inside a whale, except it's decorated with swanky "body listening" couches that gently vibrate to undersea acoustics.
